The Emirates Boeing 777 - The World's Highest Performance Vehicle

Dear Captain Lim

I have just booked to go from Sri Lanka to the UK on Emirates. I notice that from Colombo to Dubai, they use the Boeing 777-300 which I feel quite comfortable with. However the Dubai to London leg is with the A380. I have read that as well as the engine problems, they also tend to have cracks in the interior of the wings and that it has signs of metal fatigue which are not normal for a fleet this young....

Airbus have tried to justify it and explain it away but it is alarming to think that such a large, young and extensively used aircraft could have a big design fault. Apparently it was always going to be challenging because of the extra weight but as a member of the flying public, I don't like the thought of 800 lives at a time being part of a big experiment to see how long it can keep going before there is a mishap!!

What do you think? I am considering cancelling these flights and going with Etihad which doesn't use the A380 (especially as I am travelling with an infant!!).

Thanks for your input

Amelie

There is nothing more blind than a human being.
There is no limit to our foolishness. Look at this lady scared about fatigue. You know I am going to skip this flight. If life were an accident our race would have ended in the stone age. Tell her there are gazillion ways he can die if the world needs her dead. I am sad you are fuelling this kind of stupedity.
