Trial Pilotless Plane over UK

Dear Capt. Lim,

I recognise that you have a lot of experience and I absolutely believe that you already have thousands flight hour. From your experience we can see that you have ability to see the future of aviation industry especially job as a pilot.

In this modern life, there are a lot of difference and development in aviation, especially the aircraft technology. A lot of company, I believe that they start to develop cockpit less or unmanned aircraft for commercial (airlines).

I wonder, what is your opinion about this? How long does it takes from now, the airlines start to use unmanned aircraft?

And if it does happen (and I believe it will) then there will be no more job for the pilot. What would it be for the pilot?

I guess that’s my question to you. I hope you can help me out with this.

Looking forward to hear from you.

Thank you,

Shabrina Sanjaya

Hi Sabrina,

I have answered this question a few times in the past and the latest one was in the AirAsia inflight magazine under Pilots’ Perpective, Machine Vs. Man here
