Summary of Terms and Conditions of Employment for Qatar Airways Flight Deck Crew

Remuneration Package

All Flight Deck Crew employed by Qatar Airways are covered by the rules and regualtions laid down by the Company and more specifically mentioned in the contract of employment as amended from time to time.

1 USD = 3.65 QR
* The remuneration package design is based on an average of 60.00 block hours per month
Payable for every scheduled block hour of productivity flying.

For Captains @ QR 100.00 per hour
For First Officer @ QR 70.00 per hour
For Second Officer @ QR 35.00 per hour

Meal Allowance

Fixed meal allowance will be paid to operational crew whilst on layover at Company selected hotels at he relevant stations. The allowance is destination specific and based on the menu prices at the layover hotels.

The layover is a period away from base of at least the minimum rest period, or a break period that is used to extend a scheduled flying duty period.

Meal allowance (in Qatari Riyals) cover meals consumed from time of arrival at destination to time of departure.

School Fees Subsidy

75 per cent of actual tuition fees to a maximum limit of QR 30,000.00 per annum for 3 children (not per child) between the age group 4-18 years. This subsidy does not cover costs of registration, books, sports fees, transport, extra tuition and boarding fees.

Overtime

You will be entitled for 1 hour of 'Hourly Overtime Pay' for each 1 block hour of commercial flying above 780 hours per annum financial year 1st April to 31st March. The overtime will be paid once annually at the financial year.

Captain - QR 300.00
First Officer - QR 210.00
Second Officer - QR 105.00

Annual Step Increment

You shall be entitled to step increment based on satisfactory work performance as detailed below:

Captains - QR 600 per annum
First Officer - QR 420 per annum

Gratuity

Three weeks basic salary for every completed year of continuous service payable at the end of service based upon final basic salary.

Insurance

The Company provide a fully comprehensive medical coverage for Employee, Spouse & Children below the age of 21 years insured with Allianz Worldwide Care Scheme. The scheme provides 24 hour worldwide coverage except for USA and Canada.

The maximum overall in-patient benefit is GBP 750,000 per member per annum.
The maximum overall out-patient benefit is GBP2,000 per member per annum.

Allianz Worldwide Care Scheme is extended for children above 21 years till 24 years if they are still pursuing their educational career. A certificate from the respective college should be produced in support of the same.

Life Insurance

You are covered by a comprehensive life insurance scheme up to a sum of QR 250,000.

Loss of Licence Insurance

You are covered by the Loss of Licence insurance for an amount of USD 100,000. The coverage will commence after completion of your probation period.

Other Benefits

Annual Leave
42 calendar days of paid Annual Leave per annum (inclusive of Public Holidays), which can be availed in two annual blocks of leave.

Annual Leave Tickets

On completion of six months of employment, you will be entitled to One free firm ticket per year to country of domicile for self, spouse, children (maximum 3 children up to 18 years of age) as per entitlement detailed below:

Note:- Children below the age of 21 years will travel on "Y" Class accompanied by one adult.

For Qatari Staff

2 sets of free firm tickets per year is provided by the Company for employee, spouse and children (maximum 3 children up to 18 years of age) to any QR destination.

Rebated Tickets

You are entitled to rebated/concessional tickets on QR services on completion of three (3) months of employment.

After completion of 6 months of employment you are entitled to rebated/concessional tickets on other airlines as per prevailing interline agreements.

Spouse and Children under 18 years - unlimited ID90 and ID50
Children above age of 18 years - One ID90 and One ID50 per annum per child
Father/Mother Married staff - One ID90 for each parent per annum OR
One ID90 and One ID50 for any one parent per annum
Unmarried staff - One set of tickets for each parent per annum (One ID90 and One ID50)
Brother /Sisters - One ID90 and One ID50 per annum (in total irrespective of number of brothers and sisters)

Joining Assistance

Free firm joining ticket (as per class of travel) from country of domicile for Self, Spouse, and children (maximum of 3 children up to 18 years of age).

Joining Cargo

You are entitled to free cargo on QR Network as follows:

150 kgs for self
150 kgs for Spouse
50 kgs for each child (maximum of 3 kids up to 18 years of age)

On other Airlines, 50% of the above entitlement.

Does not include packing, moving/transport and agency handling charges.

Rebated Cargo

You are entitled for ID90 rebated cargo for a maximum up to 100 kgs per year on QR network.

Transport facility

The Company will provide transport for the first 2 months of joining for all official work. Thereafter, you are required to arrange for you own transportation.

Accommodation assistance.

New joiners will be provided fully furnished Company apartment accommodation for a minimum period of 4 weeks and a maximum of 8 weeks in order to assist them in finding their own accommodation. During the period of stay in the Company accommodation, you will not be entitled to Housing, Furniture, and Utility Allowance, as all facilities will be Company provided.

You will be paid an amount of QR 200 per day as Meal Allowance for a maximum period of 7 days as joining entitlement.

Roster

Roster are planned for every calendar month. A total of 24 off days are provided for every calender quarter with a minimum of 7 days for every calendar month.

Uniforms

Fixed Uniform entitlement is provided as per Company Policy. Additionally, the Company also provides free dry cleaning.

Training

If you are assigned to undergo a Type Rating course on QR fleet, you will be required to sign a 'Service Undertaking" bond to proceed on training.

Probation

You shall be considered to be on probation from the date of joining till six (6) months after your Final Line Check out.

Notice Period

Either party can terminate the offer of employment, in writing, by giving notice as:

During probation (until final line check) - Seven (7) days or payment in lieu thereof
Until completion of probation (on commencement of flight duties) - Thirty (30) days or payment in lieu thereof
After confirmation - Ninety (90) days or payment in lieu thereof.
