Dear Capt Lim.
Some weeks or months ago, Emirates introduced their new connection on the route Dubai-Perth with a Boeing 777.
Travel time is approximately 11 hours and it is more or less flying the whole trip over the Indian Ocean. Which airports are within the maximum 2 hours range in case of an emergency?
Thanks for your answer and best regards,
Stefan
Hi Stefan,
Flying from Dubai to Perth on a Boeing 777 is not a big problem. There are so many International Airports which are suitable and adequate for a Boeing 777 to divert to in case of an emergency.
The International Airports are Muscat, Karachi, Mumbai, Male (in an island in the Indian Ocean), Medan, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Jakarta and Learmonth in Western Australia . All these stations are within the range of two hours' flying time (or about 850 nautical miles away) off the main route from Dubai to Perth.
