Dear Captain Lim,
Glad that I found your web site. I am a Malaysian working with Shell, currently working in Miri, Sarawak. I was accepted by Singapore Airlines to do the cadet pilot program last year (in April 03, with all work permit ready...). However, due to my job load at that time, I could not accept the offer during that time (my job requires 3 months notice and there were a lot of handover which I could not complete within 1 month). SIA required me to report within 2 weeks after receiving the offer. Furthermore, SARS was at its peak during that time and to enter Singapore to work was not encouraged.
My question here is, whether SIA would reconsider a turned-down offer? I understand this could be quite ridiculous, but I am really keen in taking up a career in flying even I know that I have a promising career with Shell. It has been my ambition to be pilot ever since I was young (I know a lot of people share the same ambition).

Hi Tai-Wei,
Why don't you write to SIA and inform them of your situation? I am sure they would consider your second application if your reasons are valid. You know that only the cream of the applicants are selected and if you have the potential (which you have proved to them before) they may reconsider your case.
