Dear Capt Lim,

I want to share my cadet pilot interview experience with those who aspire to be a pilot. I noticed that some of your website visitors are those who look for any relevant information on interview guides or tips. I would like to share some if you don't mind.

Questions asked:-

1. Tell us about yourself, background, education, co-curricular activities, family etc.
2. Why do you want to be a pilot?
3. Why do you choose this airline company? Why not the other company or even air force?
4. What do you know about this company?
5. How many fleets are there? Name them?
6. What's the difference between B747 and B777?
7. What's the difference between B777 and B737?
8. What's the capital of South Africa/England...(depends on the panel)?
9. What do you see a pilot as?
10. Give us your 3 main strength.
11. What do you see yourself in 10 years time if accepted as a pilot?
12. What do you see yourself in 10 years time if not accepted as a pilot?
13. How does an aircraft fly?
14. What's the formulae for Bernoulli's Principle? (Is there any???)
15. What is 33x45? (Depends on the panel..)
16. Give us solid reasons why should we accept you as a pilot.

These are some of the questions that I was asked for about 45 minutes. The panels kept on provoking.

Tips:

Stay cool and don't be nervous.
Just answer what you can and if you can't answer just say you don't know the answer.
Avoid using "err....", "I think....", "mmm...."
Don't ask the panel any question unless they give you the chance to do so. And if they do, don't ask negative questions such as, family life as a pilot etc...
Just be positive and everything will turn out fine. Once the interview is over, you'll have to do a lot of chanting.

Regards,

Ariff.

Hi Ariff,

Thank you for sharing your cadet pilot interview experience. I am sure many aspiring pilots would appreciate that. I will include your interview guide in my site.
