A Fake and a Real Bird Strike!

Hi Captain Lim!

I love your page.  I have been flying American since I was 6 years old when my folks took me from Dallas to Hawaii (I got sick in the airsickness bag).  I found this clip on YouTube and wondered how something like this can happen.  It looks like a bird flew into the engine.  I asked the guy who posted it and he swears it was a horrifying experience.

How does a bird do this to a plane?  Can you post it on your page so other people can weigh in on it?  I have seen others but none as close as this one.

Ford Austin

Hi Ford,

From my observation, this video clip is a fake! (good video editing though!) If you want to see a real bird strike on a Boeing 757, the second video clip below is a real one that happened in Manchester airport on 29.04.07. For a more detailed video, please click here  on the incident.

Hmmm....thank you for putting that on your page Captain Lim. Although I can't tell the difference, they both look real just one loses their cool and doesn't shoot the video right.

Awesome site, btw!

Thanks,

Ford
