Malaysia Airlines Cadet Pilots Intake for 2008

Written by Capt Lim, on 09-01-2008

Published in : Pilot Career, Becoming a Pilot

Hi Captain Lim

Do you know when is the Malaysia Airlines cadet pilot intake for 2008? I have heard rumors that Malaysia Airlines is stopping their cadet pilot intake from 2008 onwards because the company wants to save money on sponsoring their own cadets and instead, taking in private cadet pilots straight from the flying schools. Is this true?

Regards,

Daxmin

Hi Daxmin,

There is a possibility that Malaysia Airlines may be considering this option but I cannot confirm this. However, I can see that the airlines has started to recruit direct entry pilots in their website here.

This is good news for those private candidates who satisfy the requirements below:-

c.        Possess Diploma/Degree in Engineering or Science related disciplines with CGPA 3.0 and above AND 6 credits with a pass in Bahasa Malaysia in SPM

3.        Candidates who has completed all ground school examination is also eligible to apply

4.        Recommendation letter from flying school would be an added advantage

5.        Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and English

6.        Medically and physically fit with good eyesight and not colour blind

Not less than 163 cm (5ft 4in) in height

Note:

1.        Shortlisted candidates are required to sit for MISPA and Simulator Test

2.        Diploma/Degree holders who meet the above requirement are encouraged to apply

Benefits:

Successful candidates will be offered attractive remuneration packages and fringe benefits, inclusive of:

1.        Annual privilege travel to any MALAYSIAN AIRLINE destination

2.        Discounted airfares (inclusive of eligible dependants)

3.        Medical and dental benefits

4.        Uniform will be provided
