Dear Captain Lim,
I like your website. It has helped me to try and get over my huge fear of flying. I get really anxious and I have always wondered why people don't have parachutes to fall back on in case of an accident. Do you know if this has been thought of or asked before?
I was just curious. It would make me feel safer to know that if we were going to crash, we could jump and have a better chance of surviving.
Thank you for your time.
Lisa
Hi Lisa,
I have previously answered this question titled "Why passengers in a plane are not provided with parachutes?"
You can also watch an introductory video about how the solders are trained for their parachute "Wing" below. (A passenger who is not trained to use a parachute may injure himself/herself during a fall - but can he/she also survive the fall? See this article "What happens when a human falls from 35,000 feet?")
