Thanks for your wonderful website. Just want to check with you, with Malaysian CPL/IR Frozen APTL seeking for the type rating for A320 in Malaysia, how much would it cost and if it is not available here, where should I go for this type rating?
I just want to get the type rating to prepare myself to be more marketable. I am awaiting from your reply thanks.
You can get an Airbus A320 Type Rating at the Asian Aviation Center of Excellence (AACOE - formerly CAE Kuala Lumpur Training Center) privately. This is a joint venture with Air Asia and with its order of 200 A320 neos in the near future, your chances of getting a job in Malaysia is better if the rating is obtained at AACOE.
You can get similar training in all the CAE branches listed in their websites at www.cae.com
There are other centers (one is AeroStar Flight Training in the USA - see above video) that I am not familiar with. You can also Google to find out more of other centers elsewhere and check on their rates.
In Europe, all types of training (type ratings and licenses) and its rates in Euros can be found here.
Below is the information for A320 and B737 type rating that I have I received from CAE Kuala Lumpur before the joint venture that was announced this month. So the charges now may vary:-
