Post Skies to Bar Reflections

After attending the 3-day Advocacy Training Course that completed yesterday on Fathers Day, I found my listening skills, sharpness of mind and fluency in the language showing at 75 years old. I have now decided that lawyering may not be my cup of tea after all.

As such, I will hold my lawyering venture in abeyance but I am happy to have attained my goal to have been called to the Bar

I will endeavor to spend some quality times with my other half who has been lamenting about this issue. She discouraged me to indulge the balance of my life on work. After my more than 50 years in the skies I have built up a decent nest egg. I believe I can enjoy a comfortable life until I hit the happy hunting ground.

What’s next? If age and times permit, put me back to the skies. I would love to continue training pilots, put them into the flight simulators, set the plane up in an upset, then guide them back to safety if required. I feel happier saving lives in this way. Litigating well in the courts will take me more years, a luxury that I do not have.

In this Covid-19 lockdown I have more time to keep myself fit, averaging more than 10,000 steps a day on FitBit, trying to learn to speak more fluently in Mandarin and migrating my old website (https://www.askcaptainlim.com) to a newer and leaner one.

I am waiting for the skies to reopen for less hassled-free travel soon. I longed to visit my daughter and grandkids in London again. I did not expect the pandemic to last so long!

In the meantime, I am toning down my activities and occasionally contribute an article or two in my blog.

Meanwhile, stay safe to all!
